Outlaw Duuk was born from a group of musicians who each carried their own life experiences and scars, but who found one another through a shared love for raw, dark country music. The idea began in small jam sessions in dusty garages and dimly lit rehearsal rooms, where the focus was on storytelling and conveying emotion. They soon discovered that the studio was their true stage, a place where emotions could flow freely, without the pressure of live performances.
Arnold, the quiet sixth member, writes all the lyrics. His stories form the soul of the band: they revolve around loss, struggle, love, and the darker sides of life always with a touch of hope and survival. His words are brought to life by the band: Burll Carrican lays the emotional foundation with his deep basslines, Hank Mercer weaves in melodic and atmospheric guitar riffs, Earl “Dusty Boots” McGraw delivers the stories through vocals and rhythm guitar, and Cole Barrett provides a subtle yet solid rhythm that gives the songs structure.

Burll Carrican– bassist
Burll, vormt het ritmische fundament van de band. Zijn baslijnen zijn warm, zwaar en vol emotie, en geven elk nummer een solide maar meeslepend karakter. Ooit begonnen in kleine coverbands, vond hij bij Outlaw Duuk zijn ware muzikale thuis: de studio als veilige haven om emoties te verwerken en te vertalen naar muziek. Burll werkt nauw samen met Arnold, zodat zijn baslijnen de teksten en verhalen ondersteunen en versterken. Buiten de studio is hij een liefhebber van motoren en oude vinylplaten.
Hank Mercer – leadgitarist
Hank, speelt gitaarriffs die zowel melodieus als hartverscheurend zijn. Opgegroeid op het platteland, leerde hij gitaar spelen om de lange, stille uren in de velden te vullen. Zijn stijl combineert klassieke countrytechniek met een rauwe, emotionele toets, waardoor elke solo een verhaal op zich vertelt. Hank vindt in Arnold’s teksten inspiratie voor zijn spel, waardoor zijn riffs en licks nauw aansluiten bij de emotionele kern van elk nummer.
Earl “Dusty Boots” McGraw – zanger / ritmegitarist
Earl, bekend als “Dusty Boots”, is de verteller van de band. Zijn stem kan zowel zacht en melancholisch zijn als rauw en intens, afhankelijk van het verhaal dat hij zingt. Zijn ritmegitaren leggen een warme, volle basis die de melodieën van Hank en de diepe lagen van Ambrosius ondersteunt. Hij put uit persoonlijke ervaringen, observaties en de levensverhalen van de bandleden, en vertaalt deze naar poëtische, rauwe en intieme teksten. Burll Carrican – Bassist
Burll forms the rhythmic foundation of the band. His basslines are warm, heavy, and full of emotion, giving every song a solid yet captivating character. Having started out in small cover bands, he found his true musical home with Outlaw Duuk: the studio as a safe haven where emotions can be processed and translated into music. Burll works closely with Arnold to ensure his basslines support and enhance the lyrics and stories. Outside the studio, he’s a lover of motorcycles and vintage vinyl records.
Hank Mercer – Lead Guitarist
Hank plays guitar riffs that are both melodic and heart-wrenching. Growing up in the countryside, he learned to play guitar to fill the long, quiet hours in the fields. His style blends classic country technique with a raw, emotional touch, making every solo a story in itself. Hank draws inspiration from Arnold’s lyrics, ensuring his riffs and licks connect closely to the emotional core of each song.
Earl “Dusty Boots” McGraw – Vocals / Rhythm Guitar
Earl, known as “Dusty Boots,” is the storyteller of the band. His voice can be soft and melancholic or raw and intense, depending on the story he’s singing. His rhythm guitar work lays down a warm, full foundation that supports Hank’s melodies and the deep tones of Burll’s bass. Earl works closely with Arnold to deliver the lyrics with sincerity and impact. Outside the studio, he enjoys horseback riding and exploring deserted backroads as an inspiration for many of his vocal lines.
Cole Barrett – Drummer
Cole is the rhythmic heart of Outlaw Duuk. His drum patterns are subtle yet powerful, supporting the melodies without overpowering them. He creates a steady, emotional groove that keeps the songs balanced. Cole feels most at home in the studio, where he can experiment with percussive textures and dynamics. Outside of music, he enjoys long motorcycle rides and collecting vintage percussion instruments.
Arnold – The Quiet Lyricist
Arnold is the sixth, unseen member of Outlaw Duuk. He writes all the lyrics, giving the music its soul and story. Although he never performs live, his presence is felt in every song. Drawing from personal experiences, observations, and the life stories of the band members, he shapes poetic, raw, and intimate lyrics. Arnold serves as the quiet bridge between the band’s musical ideas and the stories they want to tell, giving Outlaw Duuk its unique emotional depth.
